Goodbee & Associates served as a subconsultant to North Corridor Constructors, a joint venture of contractors Las Vegas Paving and CH2M Hill, on the $240 million Nevada DOT Design-Build project to widen I-15 from the Spaghetti Bowl to Craig Road. The project, slated for a finish date of Fall 2010, made headlines when it was completed 10 months ahead of schedule! Laura Baxter, Senior Utility Coordinator and Scheduler for Goodbee, led the team in providing utility coordination services for the project including dry and wet utility relocations, construction sequencing and scheduling, utility agreements, subcontractor contract monitoring, and change order management.
In addition to the early completion, the I-15 venture holds the distinction of being the first Design-Build project in the state. The team attributes the great success of the project to a streamlined Design-Build process, constant and open communication with Nevada DOT, and very cooperative motorists.
