Environmental Services

Goodbee & Associates works with entities that are developing, or redeveloping, large tracts of property that have experienced a myriad of former uses. Therefore, environmental services such as Phase I Investigations, Phase II Sampling and Analysis plans are integral parts of our project offering.

Phase I Environmental Site Investigations

Phase I Investigations typically address the underlying land as well as physical improvements to a property. Goodbee & Associates regularly follows industry ASTM standards in conducting these investigations to assess areas of environmental concern for property acquisitions/transactions and construction. Within a Phase I report we:

Conduct historical review of previous Phase I and Phase II reports which include research at all appropriate regulatory agencies to assess possible uses of hazardous material.
Conduct historic review of data from previous soil, water, and/or air sampling events.
Review historic aerial photos, topographic maps, and Sanborn® Maps to assess historic uses of properties that may affect project activities.
Conduct site walks to visually assess potential environmental concerns.
Identify data gaps that further need to be investigated in Phase II activities.

Phase II Sampling and Analysis Plans

Once the determination of site conditions has been made in the Phase I Investigation, Goodbee & Associates will create a Phase II Sampling and Analysis Plan (SAP). A SAP is an investigation which collects original samples of soil, groundwater or building materials to analyze for various contaminants. Our Environmental Specialists will outline a plan that specifies the appropriate sampling needed to fully assess environmental impacts at the project location. This includes:

Identifying potential contaminants of concern for soil, water, and/or air.
Identifying areas of data gaps where sampling must be conducted to further delineate contamination.
Creating a quality assurance and quality control plan (QAPP).
Providing skilled oversight on properties undergoing sampling and/or hazardous waste removal.

Health and Safety Plans

Information gathered from these investigations help Goodbee & Associates to create Health and Safety Plans (HASPS). Our assistance in developing these plans means that our Clients can provide a work site that is safe and efficient, ensuring the protection of their workers.

Regulatory Assistance

The Environmental Specialists at Goodbee & Associates offer in-depth knowledge of Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment, Colorado Division of Oil and Public Safety, and EPA regulatory procedures, standards, and requirements. This knowledge enables us to assist our Clients in maintaining compliance with all regulatory agency requirements.
